The Daily Princetonian's yearlong experiment with human-animal hybrids came to an end yesterday when the paper's leadership passed back into decidedly human hands. A pandaesque-chanda was last seen several weeks ago, when one of the creatures was spotted waddling out of the office, crumpled blanket in hand.
Kavita "Hello, darling" Saini '08 takes charge of the paper this year, promising to sacrifice sleep and sanity to ably lead the paper in its 131st year. Comfortable wielding a red pen — among other things — from her days as copy editor, Saini is set on making her mark on this year's 'Prince.'
She has a strong team behind her. Arielle "Carrot Top" Gorin '08 will head the news department with Jennifer "Prolific" Epstein '08 managing a new special projects team.
Assisting in news are Sophia "I'll feng shui this office!" Dwosh '08, Viola "Or is that vee-OH-LAH?" Huang '08, Regina "All Smiles" Lee '08 and, last but not least, Ross "You know the turtle actually beat the hare" Liemer '08.
In opinion, Brett "Sweetie" Amelkin '08 seeks to provide a forum for more campus dialogue, assisted by Jonny "King of the Jews" Fluger '08 and Scott "KFC" Moore '08, who will skip the dialogue and tell you what to think.
The sports department is in good hands, with a triumvirate once again at the helm. Karl "I heart blogging" Micka-Foos '08, Trent "Where's the Franzia?" Magruder '08 and Ashley "Emily" Wolf '08 lead the squad.
The dynamic duo of Isabel Wilkinson '08 and Laura Fitzpatrick '08 return in Street, with the help of Antonia Devine '08 and Veronica Thew '08. Katherine "I'm back!" Hamilton '08 also rejoins the team.
Mike "Erstwhile crime-fighter" Shapiro '09 heads up the new Web department.
In layout and design, Emily "Ashley" Capra '08 and Owen "I can write damn well too" Schaefer '08 take the helm along with Margaret Dunlay '09, who joins the editors' ranks.
Katherine "not Katheryn Andersen" Anderson '08 heads up photo, with deputies Sarah "I also run USG" Breslow '08 and Wes "IT guy" Shim '08. Dan Hayes-Patterson '09, Shin Jae Won '09 and Trevor Rudge '08 also join the photo crew.
Jonathan "Q, now with a whip" Chan '08 will ensure that copy is spiritually, ecumenically and grammatically correct.
Down the hall, Ellen Hukkelhoven '08 will be taking care of business and working overtime.
