This issue marks the end of the 130th Managing Board of The Daily Princetonian.
When our names first appeared on the masthead 12 months ago, we had great plans for the 'Prince.' We dreamed not only of serving, informing, persuading and entertaining our readers, but also of forging the future of this newspaper.
This year, for the first time in the paper's history, we offered the 'Prince' free to every student — and, we believe, made this 130-year-old institution even more relevant to the life of the University. Through pieces on the full range of the Princeton experience, we've strived to train a new class of journalists and to become better journalists ourselves. We gave it our all.
To our readers: it has been a pleasure to write for you. We look forward to joining your ranks.
To our staff: for bearing our criticism, accepting our assignments and joining us occasionally in that uncomfortable sensation of bedtime at sunrise — thank you. You made the paper, and you made us want to be better editors.
To the 131st Managing Board: good luck and Godspeed. You've inherited an important part of our lives. We didn't hesitate to entrust it to you, and we look forward to reading a newspaper that exceeds what we've accomplished so far.
This paper has been our paradise and our purgatory, and it's with relief and regret that we leave 48 University Place for the last time, knowing we can only return as visitors. The 130th Managing Board
