Senior forward Meghan Farrell was an offensive force on the women's soccer team this year, scoring three goals, including one game-winner. With the season over now, the 'Prince' decided to get to know her a little better.
What was your 'welcome-to-college-sports' moment?
My first collegiate game at American. I was so nervous, but we ended up winning and I scored a goal.
Greatest highlight in your sports career?
Making it to the NCAA Final Four in 2004.
Funniest story about head coach Julie Shackford?
Shacks was so excited about the Final Four that she absentmindedly forgot to load her bag onto the bus. She didn't notice until we were in North Carolina and had to call someone to pick up her bag that had been sitting outside of Jadwin all day.
Who's your quirkiest teammate?
Definitely Melissa Whitley. She says and does anything that comes to mind, no matter how awkward it is. She's notorious for group hugs.
What's your most embarrassing moment?
This past summer while I was waiting for my luggage to come off an airport conveyor belt, a pile of someone's underwear came off instead. It was sprawled out over everyone else's bags. As luck would have it, it was mine. I spent the next minute grabbing every item I could and apologizing to others around me before sprinting out of the airport. When I got to the car, I checked my bag to see if I had gotten everything. Turns out, I missed a few items ... oops.
What's the best part about being an athlete on campus?
The tailgates after the games, especially when Mrs. Williams — Allison's mom — makes her peanut butter cup brownies. They're heavenly.
What's the worst/hardest part about being an athlete on campus?
Missing special events, whether they be school sponsored or at the Street.
What' s your favorite thing to do when not practicing?
Either sleep or watch a movie.
What sport you would play other than soccer?
Probably lacrosse. They get pretty nice gear.
If you were a coach for a day, what would you do?
Take the team to the beach to play soccer in the sand and sun.
What's your favorite class taken at Princeton?
Theories of Psychotherapy with Professor Comer. We took field trips to a local psychiatric hospital and forensic center.
What's your favorite thing to do on the Street?
Hang out with friends, play some games, dance occasionally.
Who has the most game off the field?
Probably Christina Costantino, although Amanda Ferranti is a close second.
What is that crazy glass box next to Jadwin?
It's a tanning salon.
