Dear Sexpert,
I know that the FDA approved access to Plan B without a prescription for women aged 18 and older this summer, but is it available in Princeton yet?
—Offered in Princeton Stores? Dear OOPS,
The Plan B ruling actually came into effect two weeks ago, and pharmacies across the nation began to carry the formerly prescription-only emergency contraception as an over-the-counter medication. Here in Princeton, you can purchase Plan B (aka "the morning-after pill") over the counter at the CVS located on Nassau Street, but Princeton Pharmacy, which resides in the U-Store, does not have plans to offer it. You no longer need a prescription to get Plan B at CVS — if you are over 18, just ask the pharmacist on duty for it.
At University Health Services, where it has always been offered as a part of Women's and Men's Health, Princeton students (and their sexual partners) can get Plan B after a short meeting with a medical practitioner. —The Sexpert "Sexpert" is written by a team of peer sexual health educators and fact-checked by University health professionals.
