Tiger Talk

Ah, Freshman Week: A gloriously guilt-free start to the school year with no classes, warm weather and kegs aplenty. Nervous freshmen roll to the Street in packs and upperclassmen are eager to swoop in and recruit fresh meat. All this lends itself to a memorable week — full of uncomfortable introductions, strange drunken encounters and plenty of embarrassing stories. So this week, Cathy Yan '08 asked: What was your most awkward Frosh Week moment?

Tyler Allard '07

"When the sophomore class president called me a freshman." [Pause] "And then when I told him his mother was a shitty professor."

"I overheard a freshman ask how he could sneak into the Cannon Club."

Francesco Lugli '09

An abridged story of his encounter on Tuesday Sept. 19, 2006:

Francesco was walking through the Engineering Quad, when a freshman came up to him.

Freshman Engineeer: "Hey, when are Lawnparties?"

Francesco: "Do you mean when were Lawnparties?"

FE: "Oh, it's already happened?"

Francesco: "Yeah, it was this past Sunday."

Monika Krach '08

"I don't know if this is really appropriate, but I know of 'two good friends' who always pop a squat on Prospect House during freshman week every year."
