Wilson School Dean Anne-Marie Slaughter '80 has resigned from her position on the board of directors of McDonald's Corporation, the company announced yesterday.
Slaughter cited the demands of her job as dean and scheduling difficulties in explaining her decision to resign, Crain's Magazine reported yesterday. The resignation is effective Friday.
Slaughter could not be reached for comment last night.
She assumed her position on the board in the spring of 2004 and served on its compensation and corporate responsibility committees. She was paid $50,000 annually plus $1,000 for each meeting she attended, The Daily Princetonian reported in 2004.
At the time of her appointment, Slaughter called McDonald's a company on the "frontier of globalization." She was part of an effort by the company to diversify the perspective of its board members and is one of two women on the 13-person board.
