The day after tomorrow: Coming global superstorm?

While discharging the duties of Weather Guy duly invested in me by the Nevada Gaming Commission, I am occasionally asked to tender an opinion regarding the events depicted in "The Day After Tomorrow." Like all cinema, I subject "Tomorrow" to a desultory litmus test I call the "Armageddon" Criterion: Does this film contain a poignant and emotionally powerful farewell scene between Bruce Willis and Ben Affleck on the surface of an asteroid? What? No? Then cast it out, it is unfit to touch the hem of your garment.

So, while a global berstorm is not on tap, the next four days will make you a believer in rival local warming theory. Like a Never-ending Pasta Bowl at Olive Garden gone horribly awry, positive temperature anomalies and dry weather just won't quit. Thus, look for mostly sunny skies and humid highs near 80 through Wednesday, with only slight cooling Thursday.
