Freshman defenseman Dan Cocoziello was honored as the Ivy League Rookie of the Year on Wednesday, the first time in history the award has gone to a defenseman. Touted as the top recruit in the country, Cocoziello lived up to his billing, becoming just the third Tiger defender to start every game of his freshman year.
Six other Tigers were also honored as the league announced its year-end awards. Senior defenseman Oliver Barry was named first team All-Ivy for the second straight year, while sophomore attacks Peter Trombino and Scott Sowanick both earned second team status. Trombino earned the Rookie of the Year award last season.
Rounding out the honorees were four honorable mention All-Ivy players: senior attack Jason Doneger, senior defenseman Tim Sullivan, sophomore midfielder Mike Gaudio and Cocoziello.
