One drawback to being the weatherman is that I often find myself not simply held responsible for my forecasts, but rather the meteorological conditions themselves. Common misconception: to clarify, I do not (yet) exercise any such causal influence over the weather. Still, any accolades and/or adulation you wish to shower upon me for this week's warmth and sun are gladly accepted.
Wednesday's high temperature of 85 was a robust 22 degrees above seasonal norms and combined with brilliant sunshine to produce ideal conditions for lounging on Princeton University's verdant hills and dales. Here's hoping you enjoyed your precious hours awash in springtime resplendence, however, for I officially disavow any responsibility for this weekend's weather.
A series of cold fronts and upper-level disturbances will keep temperatures below average this weekend, with chances of rain on both Friday and Saturday nights. The heaviest precipitation will fall early Saturday morning, and there is a good chance that Thor will augment these storms with a considerable number of lightning strikes. Lighter rain continues off-and-on during the day on Saturday with gradually clearing but very cool and breezy conditions for Sunday. Alas, these below normal temperatures will likely continue through early next week.
Surely you will admit we've had a good run of dry and sunny weather over the last two weeks though, and into each life a little rain must fall, so to speak. I, for one, welcome our new cumulonimbus overlords.
