What is this?
This paper is enormous! And color? What is color doing on it? Has The Daily Princetonian become some sort of wrapping paper? A bedspread for a toddler?
Surely, this new color broadsheet paper would spell the end of The 'Prince' after 128 years, if it weren't for the new editor-in-chief, Melisa "Chairman" Gao '06, and the 129th managing editorial board she leads starting today.
Gao has to be insane for taking the job, 70 hours a week of it, with a bigger, more colorful paper to fill. But people close to her say she's up for the gig.
And the people closest to her are her two managing editors, who are perhaps equally as insane. Natasha "Cannon" Degen '06 heads the news department, while David "we fill half the paper" Baumgarten '06 is in charge of sports.
Also playing an important role in the news department is Lindsay "London" McGregor, as executive editor. Other news editors are Deborah "Debbie" Arotsky '06 and Renata "the Renautillus" Stepanov '06 and Aaron "Erik" Kleinman '06 and Erik "Aaron" Linstrum '06.
In sports, Baumgarten gets the assist from sports editors Stirling "Glamour" Fiss '06, Anna "Perfect Sports Name" Lineback '06 and Daniel "Franzia" Satterfield '06.
Opining will be editorial page editors Josh "Stat" Brodie '06 and Alyson "Grade Inflation" Zureick '06, who believe every opinion has a right to be heard, as long as they select it.
The new Street section continues to focus on campus entertainment, style and the arts with Evelyn "New York Times" Rusli at the helm.
Overseeing the new design of the paper will be executive editor for design, Ana "The Great" Book. She'll be directing a team of design editors including Alison "BT" Eng, Avi "The Funny" Flamholz and Nancy "The Creative" Khov.
Making sure we skip out on mispellings, factual flaws, grammatical mistakes, and style errors will be Rachel "The Last Defense" Zuraw, Copy Editor.
Basking in the fact their staff's work is now in color, Ben "Bamster" Amster, Willie "Isn't" Poor, Paul "The Lens" Chin and Stu "The Chin" Sinclair will dutifully serve as photography editors, with the help of associate photography editor Leslie "One photo" Lee.
Finally, developing future special content for the paper will be Molly "Stewart" Senger and Jorge "Foreign Correspondent" Aguilar.
People close to the paper say the team is ready for one great year. That's a good thing — because former staff members have said they expect it.
