For the third consecutive year, Colonial Club filled in during the first round of sign-ins. Terrace Club also filled, with 93 new members. More than 450 students signed into the six sign-in clubs in the first round, up from 378 last year.
The rise in the number of first round sign-ins follows the recent upward trend in the number of students joining sign-in clubs. In 2003 about 350 students signed in during the first round, while just 335 did the year before.
"Colonial is thrilled to have filled up first round with a large, enthusiastic group of sophomores," club president Katie Daviau '06 said. Daviau is also a member of the 'Prince' staff as director of advertising sales and development. "This is one of our most successful years and the result is a testament to the hard work of Colonial's 2004 officers."
In the second round of sign-ins "Colonial and Terrace will only be accepting members for their waitlists," said Prospect Foundation's Brian McKenna '04. Both clubs waitlisted students in the first round of sign-ins.
Terrace's crop of 93 new members comes after last year's 95 first-round and 10 second-round sign-ins, the club reported in an email to new members.
Last year Quadrangle Club was the only club other than Colonial to fill in the first round. Quad president Jamal Motlagh '06 declined to release the club's numbers but said Quad "still has room available" for the second round of sign-ins.
Campus, Charter and Cloister Club also have room for new members to sign-in during the second round, but none of the club presidents could be reached to comment.
The members of the Inter-Club Council (ICC) voted for the third straight year against releasing specific sign-in numbers for each club.
