Athlete of the Week -- Becky Brown

Though some of the underclassmen have been earning the spotlight during women's basketball's current five-game winning streak, this time it's the court leader who is making waves.

Junior center Becky Brown scored 42 points and grabbed 18 rebounds combined in a pair of home games last week for the Tigers as the team record improved to 7-5.

Against St. Peter's on Jan. 3, Brown netted 19 points on 7-18 shooting from the floor and five-for-five from the free throw line. She also snatched nine boards on the way to a 67-50 blowout win over the Peacocks. Freshman Meagan Cowher was the only Princeton player with a higher point total, scoring 28 in the win.

Two days later against Army, Brown dropped 23 points — a team high — on 11-16 from the field and hauled in nine more rebounds as the Tigers pulled away for a 64-53 win over the Black Knights.

Brown has started all 12 games for Princeton this season and is the team's second leading scorer, behind only Cowher, with 11.7 points per game.

For her efforts, The Daily Princetonian names Becky Brown its Athlete of the Week.
