After two consecutive scoreless ties, Princeton men's soccer had to worry about just scoring a goal before they concerned themselves with upsetting No. 21 Brown.
Junior midfielder Ben Young made sure the Tigers got both.
Young scored the game-tying goal and assisted on the game-winner as Princeton knocked off the defending Ivy League champion Bears 3-2 on Saturday at Lourie-Love Field.
Down 2-1 in the second half, Young punched home a crossing pass from junior forward Adrian Melville in the 62nd minute to tie the game. Later, in the 79th minute, Young struck again, this time delivering the crossing pass to junior forward Darren Spicer, who finished to give Princeton the win.
Melville scored the first goal of the game for Princeton, ending a team-record stretch of 298 minutes, 50 seconds without a goal.
Young now has one goal and three assists in 10 games played for the Tigers this season, making him the team's fourth-leading scorer. He also ranks third on the team with 16 shots.
For his efforts against Brown, the Daily Princetonian is proud to name Ben Young this week's Athlete of the Week.
