Series announcement

On Nov. 6, 1869, the first intercollegiate football game took place between Princeton and Rutgers in New Brunswick, with the Scarlet Knights winning, 6-4. As the 135th anniversary of the game approaches, the 'Prince' will run a weekly series highlighting memorable moments, teams and characters in Princeton football history. The series will appear on Wednesdays beginning one week from today. In the 135 years since that game was played, increasing demands have been placed on student athletes across the country and especially in the Ivy League.

Another series will highlight some of Princeton's varsity athletes who best represent the ideal of the student athlete to their teammates. Look for these articles in the 'Prince' on Fridays beginning Sept. 17.
