Extraordinarily good at sinking Navy in the final moments of a game seems to be the specialty of Dan McKenna, senior two-meter co-captain of the men's water polo team. Wth the clock winding down in the final moments of sudden-death overtime, Navy controlled the ball in the Princeton end of the pool. Realizing that there wasn't much time left, McKenna took off towards the Navy goal at the same time that freshman driver Chris Kelsch stole the ball from a Navy player. Kelsch relayed the ball up to a wide-open McKenna who had swam away from the pack and scored the winning goal (7-6) in the team's biggest game thus far.
McKenna followed with an encore performance against Bucknell by scoring six goals in a 17-6 blowout win. The Tigers also downed Johns Hopkins, 16-8, to complete the three-game set. Thanks to McKenna's outstanding weekend, Princeton was able to improve its record to 7-0 on the season and for this, he has been named The Daily Princetonian's Athlete of the Week.
