Jesse Gage

Senior Jesse Gage, below, swimming with classmates Jamie Leahy, Garth Fealey, and Pat Donahue, finished 12th in the 200-yard Medley Relay at NCAA Championships, March 27-29 in Austin, TX. The race was one of four top-15 relay finishes,propelling the Tigers to an impressive 19th place team finish.

Individually, Fealey was the Tigers' top individual finisher, taking 15th in the 100 breaststroke. He also took 29th in the 200 breast.

Meanwhile, Gage finished 21st in both the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly, and took 40th in the 100 free. Junior Steve Fleming came in 22nd in his only race, the 200 backstroke.

Senior Carl Hessler also chipped in, taking 23rd in the 200 free and 24th in the 200 fly.

Mike Baird

Senior Mike Baird finished 13th in the one-mile run at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Fayettville, Arkansas, in mid-March.

Baird was Princeton's only competitor at the championships. He finished his race in a time of 4:15.10.

The senior qualified for the event by virtue of his performances in the mile and 3000 meters. Baird qualified for NCAAs with a mile time of 4:02.71, the third fastest time in Princeton's history. A time of 8:02.61 in the 3000 which, coincidentally, was also the third fastest in the program's history, placed Baird among track's elite at the championships.
