Seeded No. 2 in last weekend's Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament, the women's water polo team was considered an underdog. This did not faze the team, as it took home the championship playing in its own pool. It certainly did not faze its co-captain, senior two-meter defender Jenny Edwards.
The Tigers were led to Sunday's championship game largely because of the efforts of Edwards, who scored her third goal of Saturday's quarterfinal game against Brown with 40 seconds remaining to give the Tigers the 8-7 win.
In Sunday's final, the senior's stellar defense, including a team-high six steals, as well as a goal and an assist, fueled the team in its 10-8 win. For her efforts, Jenny Edwards has been named this week's Athlete of the Week.
