Yesterday afternoon, as most of us wrapped up a hectic week of midterms, we found early morning sunshine deteriorated into a cold, grim rain. It was, you might say, another beautiful day in central New Jersey.
The run of bad weather left most of us deliriously happy at midweek to experience sunshine with temperatures in the low 50s. It finally felt like spring, inspiring more than a few dusting-offs of shorts and sandals. We doubt residents of southern California ever experience the sheer bliss that a decent spring day can bring out on McCosh Walk. Our meteorologically-challenged locale also makes today's departures for Cancun, Montego and other warmer ports that much more exciting.
This is not to say we would object if the University were to marshal its billions for a relocation campaign, moving campus one brick at a time to a small Caribbean island. The sailing team would have a shorter commute, engineers could practice building in the sand, and we could have bonfires even in football's off years.
To those who are planning visits to Thesisland or the J. P. islands this coming week, we extend heartfelt consolations. At least, if this keeps up, there'll be no inconvenient urge to spend time outside. — The Daily Princetonian Opinion Board
