Athlete of the Break

Determined not to let the men's lacrosse team's struggles last any longer, junior attackman Ryan Boyle exploded over spring break last week, helping the Tigers to two crucial wins in their non-conference schedule.

After losing its opening two games to Johns Hopkins and Virginia, Princeton had its back up against the wall with two more tough games against nationally ranked teams.

A week ago, Boyle set a career-high in points when he scored three times to complement his six assists against Hofstra. Boyle's effort led a Princeton romp that ended in a lopsided 18-5 win.

This past weekend, Boyle scored once and added a dish as the Tigers beat two-time defending national champion Syracuse Orangemen 11-10 in front of over 8,000 fans in the Carrier Dome.

Boyle's production over break did two things for the All-American. In the what-have-you-done-for-me-lately category, Boyle extended his streak of recording at least one point in every game of his collegiate career.

In more breaking news, Boyle's two-game, 11-point performance earned him the Prince's Athlete of the Break Award and the year's supply of chocolate pudding that goes along with it.
