Maureen Nash began her position as Princeton's new vice president of human resources last Wednesday. She succeeds Joan Doig, who retired in December 2001. Since that time, Daniel Scheiner, a member of the human resources department since 1988, has served as acting vice president.
Nash comes to the University from her most recent position as vice president for learning and development at the Bristol Myers Squibb Co. in Princeton, where she has been since 1999.
She has led human resources for two businesses at Fidelity Investments; directed organizational effectiveness, development and training at two divisions of Johnson and Johnson; and has supervised industrial relations at the Monsanto Co. and employee relations at Northwestern University.
Her responsibilities at the University will include directing employee recruitment, employment, compensation, benefits administration, labor relations and training and development.
"I look forward to blending my diverse experiences with the HR team in continuing to contribute to making Princeton a great place to work," Nash said in a statement.
