With this issue of The Daily Princetonian, the 2003 Managing Board begins its year-long reign.
Leading the pack is 126th Editor-in-Chief Bill Beaver '03, who hopes to continue the spirit of excellence that the 'Prince' has seen in the past year.
Beaver has taken the unprecedented step of appointing three managing editors to run the paper's news department. Michael Grabell '03, Michael Jenkins '03 and Jessica Lautin '03 will share the duties of developing story ideas, assigning writers and editing the news section.
Jessica Hafkin '03 and Michael Stein '03 will lead the Page 3 section into its third year. They will handle the investigative features that have made Page 3 the intellectual flagship of the paper.
Hafkin and Stein will share their office with a growing layout team. Alexis Burakoff '04, Erica Gralla '04 and Eric Yanagi '04 will return as layout editors to oversee the paper's appearance. Amy Burghardt '05 and Rob Simmons '05 will be associate layout editors.
Gabe Fossati '03 will be back in the photography department, this time running the show as photography editor. Under him will be associate photography editors Alex Halderman '03, Xochiquetzal Martinez '04 and Katherine Roberts '04.
Ramesh Nagarajan '03, Kim Ruthsatz '03 and Matt Simmons '03 are taking over the sports department, where they plan to restore Manifest Destiny to the once-powerful section of the paper. Joe Falencki '04 and Austin Starkweather '04 will serve as associate sports editors.
Heather Aspras '03, Cason Crosby '03 and Emily Gopstein '03 will be in charge of the paper's editorial and opinion page. They plan to recruit even more thoughtful and insightful columnists to wage rhetorical war amongst themselves.
Mihai Parparita '04 and Brian Tsang '04 are the new online editors. They will oversee www.dailyprincetonian.com and E-Prince, the e-mail version of the paper.
Iris Blasi '03, Sara Hofstetter '03 and Anne Kern '04 will serve as arts editors for the 2003 board and will try to continue the tradition of perfectionism and precision that has become a mainstay of that weekly section.
