Women's Soccer's Deerin, Ariss and Willis recognized

In addition to being named Ivy League Player of the Year before the beginning of the NCAA Tournament, junior midfielder Heather Deerin was named to the All-Mid-Atlantic Region first team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. This is the second straight year Deerin has been named to the team.

She was also awarded 2001 Ivy League Player of the Year before the beginning of this year's NCCA Tournament.

The honor automatically enters Deerin into the candidate pool for the national All-America selections.

Two of Deerin's teammates were also named as third team All-Mid-Atlantic Region selections. Junior Krista Ariss and freshman Janine Willis were recognized by the NSCAA in addition to their first team and honorable mention all-Ivy League honors, respectively.

Overall, the Tigers (14-3-2 overall, 5-1-1 Ivy League) finished tied for first in the League with Dartmouth and Penn. The team advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, beating Loyola, 3-1.

Host Princeton was then ousted from the 2001 Women's College Cup by in-state rival Rutgers, 1-0.
