As of Nov. 21, the day before Thanksgiving, the women's basketball team was ranked No. 1 in the country in the Ratings Percentage Index (RPI). All by themselves - no ties, no blemishes, just first place. With a rating of 1.000, the Tigers led a pack of four teams in second place with .9375. Further down the list was undefeated powerhouse UConn at No. 15 with a rating of .7943. Such mediocre teams as Tennessee and Louisiana Tech were well back at No. 41.
With the loss to Santa Clara on Friday night, the Tigers have slipped from their lofty post. Nevertheless, four games into the year, Princeton is a long way from last year, when it was No. 315 at one point - ahead of only Robert Morris and Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
