Tigers lose to Golden Bears 58-70

Despite 17 points by sophomore center Konrad Wysocki, the men's basketball team fell to Cal 70-58 in the first round of the BCA Classic Thursday night in Berkeley, Calif.

Wysocki went 6-for-8 from the field on the evening including a pair of three-pointers, but Princeton fell behind by 16 at halftime and was unable to make up the difference in the second half.

The Tigers shot a respectable 58 percent from the field as a team, but were hampered by 24 turnovers which eventually made the difference as the Golden Bears only handed the ball over 15 times.

Junior guard Mike Bechtold was the only other Tiger in double figures, scoring 11 points one 4-for-8 shooting. Bechtold also had three rebounds and three assists in 31 minutes of action.

Princeton showed its deep bench as 12 players made it onto the floor - nine of whom logged over 10 minutes of action.

Sophomore forward Andre Logan picked up eight points, going 3-for-4 from the field, but senior guard Ahmed El Nokali struggled, only picking up five points and two assists.

Princeton is back in action in the consolation game of the Classic against ranked St. Joe's Saurday night.
