Baseball players garner Ivy League honors
Sophomore Ryan Quillian, a righthander from Atlanta, Ga., was named the Ivy League Co-Pitcher of the Week, sharing the award with Craig Beslow, a junior lefthander from Yale.
Quillian threw his third straight complete game in Friday's 1-0 win over Columbia, part of a three-games-to-one series victory over the Lions that left Princeton alone atop the Gehrig division standings.
The sophomore allowed only three hits, issued only two walks, and struck out seven in his second complete-game shutout of the season.
Senior outfielder Max Krance made the Ivy League Honor Roll this week after his six-RBI performance in Saturday's sweep of Columbia. He hit .467 in the four-game serires. Krance now leads the Tigers with a .346 average and is tied for third on the team with 16 RBI.
Ryan Boyle named Ivy League Rookie of the Week
Freshman Ryan Boyle was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week for men's lacrosse. Boyle had two goals on two shots and four assists in Princeton's 15-1 domination of Harvard Saturday, a victory that stretched the Tigers' Ivy-League win streak to 35 games.
Boyle jumpstarted Princeton's offense Saturday, scoring the game's first goal on his first shot, two minutes, 12 seconds into the first quarter. A few minutes later, Boyle found junior attackman B.J. Prager with a pass in front of the net. Boyle found Prager again in the third quarter for Prager's 16th goal of the season — 10 of which have come off assists from Boyle.
