Princeton splits over opening EIVA weekend

After opening its season with three tough games against nationally ranked opponents in California, the men?s volleyball team (2-3 overall, 1-1 Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association) completed a grueling road trip in Pennsylvania, where it opened EIVA play against Juniata College (4-3, 1-0) and East Stroudsburg University (1-3, 0-2). Spectators at the games could have been convinced that two different Tiger teams took the court those days.

Now I know what it feels like to suck

I?m going to admit it: Princeton was almost my first choice when I applied to college. And for my first few months at Penn ? when things sometimes got a little overwhelming ? I wondered what it would be like had I made my home-away-from-home in patrician New Jersey.Well, we may not have fancy eating clubs, an all-white graduating class or Dr. Gregory House here; life in West Philly is a little simpler and a lot less pretentious.

Brought back to earth

NEW YORK, N.Y. ? A week after hope was restored to the men?s basketball team?s season, a winless trip through the Ivy League?s toughest road weekend brought the momentarily mighty Tigers (5-14 overall, 2-2 Ivy League) back down to earth.The weekend opened with a battle of Ivy unbeatens, as Princeton looked to build on its season-opening wins over Dartmouth and Harvard with a road upset of league powerhouse Cornell (14-5, 6-0) on Friday night.
