You should have listened to your mom

Anyone who's ever entered an NCAA March Madness pool has almost certainly witnessed the painfully obnoxious scenario in which, out of dumb luck, some idiot manages to outguess everyone and lead the pool for the first two or three rounds.It often comes in the form of someone's girlfriend who correctly picks the final four based on team colors alone, or a person's grandmother who predicted Bradley to make it to the Sweet 16 because her precious live-in 32 year old grandson shares the same name with the university.Usually, it's frustrating and nothing more, as things tend to even out as the championship game nears.

Pitching propels Tigers

It was a perfect day for softball, and the Tigers were nearly perfect to match. On one of the first truly springlike days of the year, the softball team took the field in their 2006 home opener against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights yesterday afternoon at Class of 1895 Field.The Tigers proved dominant on both sides of the ball, jumping out to early leads in both games and holding on for a pair of wins.Senior ace pitcher Erin Snyder led the way both offensively and defensively, allowing only four hits with 10 strike outs in the first game shutout that Princeton won 2-0.

Intramural broomball: slipping to a good time

Over the past two months, Baker Rink has been a hub for more than just hockey. During February and March, after the men's and women's hockey teams have cleared the ice, the rink was flooded by a slightly less conventional group of athletes.Broomball is the name of the game and the intramural season brings intense competition between eating clubs, academic departments, residential colleges and other student groups.
