Tigers run, jump and throw against local athletes in China trip

While some Princetonians went abroad this summer for work and others for pleasure, the men's and women's track teams raced over to China for a little of both.A contingent of 51 Tigers, along with over 20 coaches and support staff, left the United States on June 12 for what would be a memorable 13-day stay in the world's most populous nation."If we were going to go somewhere, I thought we should go someplace that would mean something for the athletes, somewhere more exotic," men's head coach Fred Samara said.

Tigers get last laugh, win easily

Princeton does not lose Ivy League field hockey games often ? a fact Dartmouth learned the hard way Saturday afternoon. The Tigers (2-2 overall, 2-0 Ivy League) dominated the Big Green (2-3, 1-1) in Hanover, N.H., all the way to a 4-1 victory that was Princeton's third straight over Dartmouth and sixth in the past seven seasons.Things might have gone very differently if the whole game had been played like the first few minutes.Less than three minutes after the opening whistle, the Big Green's Ashley Hines redirected a shot past sophomore goalkeeper Cynthia Wray to give Dartmouth a lead on the first shot of the game. The next five shots came from Tiger sticks as Princeton took control of the game.

Pack running leads to win

For those who assume that running is an individual sport, a single glimpse at the women's cross country team disproves that notion. These Tigers strategize and cooperate with each other just like any other team, and they executed their gameplan to perfection this Saturday in defeating Harvard and Yale."These girls are your teammates for a reason," senior captain Caitlin McTague said.
