The field hockey team continued its dominant play in the Ivy League on Saturday, thrashing Brown 6-0 at Bedford Field. The No. 3 Tigers (11-1 overall, 4-0 Ivy League), having won four games by a combined score of 26-1, remain undefeated in the conference.

Princeton, other New Jersey sites prohibited from hosting NCAA tournaments

As a result of New Jersey’s efforts to legalize sports gambling, the NCAA will not allow any championship events to be held in the Garden State, the governing body announced Monday evening. Princeton, along with other New Jersey schools and venues, will no longer be able to host any NCAA-sponsored tournament games.

Men's Water Polo: Skilled sophomore Hoffenberg is scoring sensation

If you were to consider sophomore attacker Drew Hoffenberg’s first season playing collegiate water polo, it would seem that he never leaves the pool. Last year as a freshman, the attacker put up 47 goals, 36 assists, 11 blocks and drew 41 ejections, leading Princeton to a third-place finish at the NCAA Championships.

Sprint Football: On senior night, hosts suffer another close loss

On Friday night, the sprint football team fell to Franklin Pierce 21-14 in its last home game of the season. The Tigers took the field clad in the customary black and orange as well as pink socks for breast cancer awareness. The stands were filled with fans coming out to support the Tigers on their senior night — an atmosphere that was both noticed and appreciated by the team.

Women's Volleyball: Bulldogs hand Princeton 1st league defeat

The women’s volleyball team came out firing against Yale on Friday, taking the first set from the defending champions, but the Bulldogs rebounded to hand Princeton its first Ivy League loss. The following day, the Tigers (9-8 overall, 6-1 Ivy League) dropped Brown 3-0 to remain firmly in second place halfway through conference play.

Football: Defensive line key to Princeton's shutout

At the start of the season, one area of strength for the football team was clear: with senior Caraun Reid, a returning first-team All-Ivy selection, on one side of the defensive line and second-team All-Ivy senior Mike Catapano on the other, Princeton’s front four looked as menacing as any in the conference. And that defensive line was the biggest reason the Tigers beat Brown 19-0 on Saturday afternoon, ending the Bears’ Ivy League record of 162 straight games without being shut out.

One thing is for sure after Saturday’s football game: This is not the same football team Princeton fans have been accustomed to for the past couple of seasons. The Tigers continued to prove themselves capable after dominating Brown 19-0 on Saturday for their third consecutive win of the season, giving the team its first winning record (3-2) since three games into the 2008 season and keeping the team undefeated in Ivy League play at 2-0.

With the game on the line in the fifth minute of sudden-death overtime, Creighton defender Benito Amaral received a smooth through-ball eight yards out from goal from midfielder Jose Gomez on the right side.
