Texas: Ted Cruz ‘92After a come-from-behind victory in the Republican primary earlier this year, Tuesday may be Cruz’s easiest election so far. Cruz, a star of the Tea Party movement and a mentee of politics professor Robert George, is the heavy favorite in the Lone Star state. Look for him to be a major player in Tea Party politics in the Senate.

College Democrats, Republicans spend Election Day getting out the vote

After spending fall break canvassing in Virginia and Florida, respectively, the Princeton College Republicans and Princeton College Democrats will spend today on last-minute get-out-the-vote efforts before the polls close.Several members of the College Democrats have volunteered to spend Election Day in Pennsylvania. According to College Democrats president Natalie Sanchez ’14, the students will try to ensure that residents of the swing state are “registered and willing and able to vote.”

Storm slams Princeton area, University, though local area recovers more slowly

Almost a week after Hurricane Sandy passed through Princeton, the University has resumed normal operations. The local electric utility company has restored power to campus, the fallen trees have been mostly cleared off the walkways and roads and University facilities are open after a week of shutdowns. Meanwhile, as many as 40 percent of the town residents were still without power as of Sunday afternoon, according to local officials, down from 80 percent of residents who lacked power last week.Follow The Daily Princetonian's continuing coverage of Hurricane Sandy's aftermath here.
