Late Tuesday night, a student was struck by a red car and was trapped underneath for over 20 minutes. The male student is currently in stable condition and at the hospital, according to a Public Safety (PSafe) officer on scene.
The incident occurred on Elm Drive outside of Alexander Hall, which contains Richardson Auditorium. According to three students who witnessed the incident, the student was cycling on Elm Drive when the car collided with him. Witnesses say the student had been riding a bike.
At least two fire trucks and an ambulance were at the scene. At least six firefighters and five PSafe officers were present. Multiple PSafe vehicles surrounded the area between Alexander Hall, Cannon Green, and Morrison Hall.
Students reported seeing firefighters trying to lift the car, and the student being successfully pulled out from underneath. The Daily Princetonian has not been able to confirm any further details regarding the incident, including the identities of the student who was struck and the individual driving the car.
A call and email to University spokespeople were not immediately returned.
