As Eisgruber's speechwriter, Quinones will draft major speeches delivered by the president. The president speaks at annual Opening Ceremony and Commencement exercises, as well as various on-campus lectures and fundraising and alumni events. In addition, the president writes a column in the Princeton Alumni Weekly.

Quinones declined to be interviewedThursdayabout his new job. Eisgruber is traveling overseas until the end of the month and was not available for comment, his secretary said.

Quinones succeeds John Weeren, whowrote speeches for former University President Shirley Tilghman from 2004until the end of her term. Weeren now directs Princeton Writes, a program launched this year that offers classes and tutorials to help University community members improve their communication skills.

Monday’s announcement rounds out the staff members who will serve in One Nassau Hall. Eisgruber recently named Erin Graham, formerly the program coordinator at the Center for Human Values, as his executive assistant. Graham worked for Eisgruber in the Office of the Provost between 2007 and 2009.

Eisgruber’s longtime assistant from his term as provost, Mary DeLorenzo, remains with the new president in the same position. Beyond Quinones, Graham and DeLorenzo, the president’s administrative staff is comprised of holdovers from Tilghman’s administration.

With his personal team now staffed, Eisgruber mustselect a new executive vice president this fall. Treby Williams ’84, assistant vice president for safety and administrative planning, is currentlyserving as acting executive vice president.
