The women’s golf team placed eighth out of a 16-team field at the Yale Fall Invitational last Sunday. Junior Kelly Shon led both the Tigers and all other Ivy League players at the tournament, finishing fourth individually at +1 after shooting 72 on the last day, at par for The Course at Yale.
Freshman Alexandra Wong finished second for Princeton, tied for 26th with a +13 overall. Of the other scorers for the Orange and Black, senior Anna Jang tied for 44th with freshman Sydney Kersten tied at 46th close behind. Sophomore Mary Funk rounded it out for the Tigers, finishing 84th.
Nova Southeastern finished first, led by Daniela Ortiz, whose -9 score won her a first place title of her own.
This weekend, the Tigers will travel out to State College, Pa., to participate in the Nittany Lion Invitational. Among those in the field is host Penn State, which finished second at Yale, as well as Ancient Eight opponents Columbia, Harvard and Yale. The tournament tees off Friday at 7 a.m.
