Sports Shorts: Hummer, Davis earn All-Ivy honors

Joining Hummer and Rosen on the first team are Columbia guard Brian Barbour, Cornell guard Chris Wroblewski, Harvard forward Kyle Casey and Yale center Greg Mangano. The first team featured six players due to a tie in voting. The diversity of teams represented on the first team speaks to the current balance in the Ivy League, and some have claimed that league is experiencing a renaissance in basketball over the last few seasons.

Hummer is the only player in the Ancient Eight ranking in the top 10 in scoring, rebounding, assists, steals, blocks and field goal percentage.

Senior guard Doug Davis, Princeton’s second leading scorer, was named to the second team All-Ivy. He is the third all-time scorer in Princeton’s history and was one of the top three three-point shooters in the Ivy League this season. Davis was honorable mention All-Ivy his freshman year and second-team after his sophomore season.

Last year, he garnered national attention for Princeton with his buzzer beater that sent the Tigers to the NCAA Tournament during the one-game playoff with Harvard. Davis will leave Princeton having played the most games in history, with 120.

Hopefully for the Tigers, Davis will get to extend that streak even further, as Princeton awaits to see if it will be invited to a postseason tournament.
