Both referenda on the USG spring election ballot have passed, according to election results released on Friday night.
The first referendum, proposed by Dan May ’11, will eliminate the Honor Committee seat traditionally reserved for the freshman class president and instead open a seat to a freshman representative who would be selected through an application process. The referendum, which required a three-fourths majority to pass, was approved by 1,415 out of 1,738 voters, or 81.42 percent.
The second referendum, proposed by the Princeton Equality Project and cosponsored by the Princeton ACLU and the Pride Alliance, will require USG president Michael Yaroshefsky ’12 to write a letter to the University’s Board of Trustees on behalf of the student body asking them to officially endorse the federal Employment Non-Discrimination Act, which would prohibit employers from discriminating against employees on the basis of sexual orientation.
The ENDA referendum required a simple majority to pass, as long as the majority accounted for at least one-sixth of the enrolled undergraduate student body, and was approved by 1,506 out of 1,816 voters, or 82.93 percent.
In the race for Class of 2012 treasurer, John Monagle defeated Kameron Knab by only three votes, 216-213, winning 50.35 percent of the vote. The candidates for the remaining three Class of 2012 officer positions were running unopposed. Incumbent Lindy Li will serve as senior class president, incumbent Nick Pugliese will serve as senior class vice president and Tulio Alvarez Burgo will serve as senior class social chair.
Incumbent Class of 2012 social chair Aparajita Das was eliminated from the election due to a miscommunication about changes to the USG election procedures.
There were no candidates for the position of Class of 2012 secretary, which will be filled through an application process.
All Class of 2013 officers ran for re-election unopposed. The Class of 2013 incumbents include president Zach Beecher, vice president Stefan Kende, treasurer Hanna Tian, secretary Kendra Simon and social chair Jamie Joseph.
The Class of 2014 ballot will see the only runoff of the spring election process. Jason Adleberg and incumbent Michael Moses will proceed to a runoff for Class of 2014 vice president. Adelberg received 173 out of a total of 542 votes or 31.92 percent, while Moses received 249 votes or 45.94 percent, falling short of the necessary simple majority. A third candidate, Devon Barrett, received 120 votes, or 22.14 percent, and will not proceed to the runoff.
Voting for the runoff will take place from today at noon to Wednesday at noon, and the results will be released on Friday.

Two other races on the Class of 2014 ballot were contested, with incumbents winning both. Incumbent Class of 2014 treasure Sophia Deng defeated Adam Kinalski with 410 out of 564 votes, or 72.70 percent, and incumbent Class of 2014 secretary Mary D’Onofrio defeated Sydney Krueger with 306 out of 537 votes, or 56.98 percent.
Incumbent Class of 2014 president Luchi Mmegwa and incumbent Class of 2014 social chair Andrea Baglioni both ran uncontested and will be resuming their positions next year.
In the race for USG social chair, Benedict Wagstaff ’14 defeated Kiran Gollakota ’13 with 1,029 out of 1,720 votes, or 59.83 percent. Gollakota is also an executive editor for sports for the ‘Prince.’
Ten U-Councilors were elected out of 16 candidates. They include, in order of votes: incumbent Katlin Poladian ’12, with 609 votes; current USG senior executive secretary Hae Bin Kim ’13, with 483 votes; incumbent Amy Ridgeway ’12, with 464 votes; incumbent Merik Mulcahy ’13, with 423 votes; incumbent Sarah Wiley ’13, with 411 votes; incumbent Alexander Pretko ’12, with 404 votes; Lily Alberts ’13, with 403 votes; Cameron Henneberg ’14, with 328 votes; incumbent Steven Lindsay ’12, with 323 votes; and Elektra Alivisatos ’14, with 293 votes.

Other candidates for U-Councilor included: Ben Chan ’13, who received 280 votes; Kevin McKee ’14, who received 256 votes; Samantha Batel ’13, who received 253 votes; Benjamin Wainwright ’14, who received 248 votes; Bernice Fokum ’14, who received 232 votes; and Storm Portner ’14, who received 229 votes.
