Harne, who has served as the college’s academic dean since 2009, has said that his goal is to “renew The College of Saint Mary Magdalen as a model of Catholic collegiate life that is faithful to the Magisterium and deeply rooted in the Catholic intellectual tradition.”
Harne received his Ph.D. and master’s degree from the University, where he studied in the music department. His publications include work on the topics of medieval music, Renaissance music, music in antiquity and the contemporary philosophy of music.
During his time at the University, Harne was active in the Center for the Study of Religion and the Program in Hellenic Studies.
He has been honored with Princeton’s Stanley J. Seeger and Naumberg Fellowships as well as the Mustard Seed Foundation’s Harvey Fellowship.
