Grilli was two over par, leading the team and coming in a tie for 21st overall. Junior Kate Scarpetta (4 over), sophomore Wonji Choi (7 over), junior Rachel Blum (12 over) and junior Maggie Boberg (15 over) rounded out the squad.

The Tigers slipped over the next two days, falling three places to 19th at tournament’s end, ahead of only Mississippi State.

“We did not perform as well as we would have liked,” Grilli said. “I wish we could go against that field of teams later in the season, since they are very competitive.”

Scarpetta’s 17-over score put her in second on the team, followed by Choi (24 over), Blum (27 over) and Boberg (33 over).

“We did improve in the last round, which is always good,” Grilli said. “We hope that our scores will keep getting lower as we play in more tournaments.”

Tulane ran through the tournament, kicking it off in the lead and never looking back.
