New members of Tower Club will pay $870 this spring, while sophomores at Tiger Inn will pay $825, according to information provided by the clubs’ presidents in an e-mail to The Daily Princetonian. New members of Cap & Gown Club will pay $700, while sophomores joining Quadrangle Club will face fees of $650 and Cloister Inn members will pay $500 for the next semester, the clubs’ presidents said in e-mails to the ‘Prince.’
Last spring, new members of Ivy Club paid $700, an Ivy member said, while Terrace Club sophomores paid $500 for the spring, according to a Terrace member. Cottage Club sophomores paid $450 and sophomores joining Charter Club and Colonial Club paid $400, according to the Princeton Prospect Foundation website. Presidents of these five clubs did not respond to requests for comment about this year’s dues.
The University currently provides up to $6,960 for juniors and seniors on financial aid to finance their dining choices, but the financial aid policy does not cover sophomore dues or upperclassmen social fees for eating clubs.
Sophomores are typically allowed to eat a set number of meals per week at their new club and attend spring formal events, though different clubs allot sophomores different numbers of meals. New members are not provided with a full meal plan at the club until the fall of their junior year.
