A: Walking from Forbes to Jadwin for 7 a.m. lift every Monday, Wednesday and Friday my freshman year.
Q: What has been the greatest highlight in your sports career?
A: It’s a tie between my first collegiate win my freshman year against Rutgers and a much more recent event … our program captured its first dual-meet victory last week against F&M since [head coach Chris] Ayres took over. This was a great moment for me, my teammates and our coaches. It’s been a long time coming, and we plan on continued success.
Q: What’s your funniest story about a coach?
A: Coach Ayres is a self-proclaimed genius when it comes to science. Whenever explaining anything, he’ll always be like, “trust me, it’s physics!”
Q: Who is your quirkiest teammate? Why?
A: Kurt Brendel. I can’t go into all the specifics, but three things come to mind when I think of him: Robot, Renaissance Man and wrestler.
Q: What has been your most embarrassing moment with the team?
A: My freshman year I overslept my alarm the day of our match against Bucknell. It was an away match, and my entire team had all already boarded the bus to leave. So, panicking, I sprinted from Forbes to Jadwin in Olympic time, but just as I am rounding the corner to the bus, I try to leap the stairs (apparently my vertical was not what I thought it was), and I clip my foot on the last stair, falling flat on my face in plain view of my teammates and coaches. The coaches couldn’t even get mad at me after that. I was completely flustered.
Q: What’s the best part about being an athlete on campus?
A: Per Diem, especially when I can’t use it for food cause I’m cutting weight. Also, automatically having a family in your team when you step on campus.
Q: If not wrestling, what other sport would you like to play here at Princeton?

A: Other than my extreme aquaphobia, I would love to try playing waterpolo. I watched my first waterpolo game when I came to campus, and since then I have always admired the immense athleticism the sport requires.
Q: If you were a coach for a day, you would…?
A: Substitute the morning lift for a “beach” workout (Chest, Back and Biceps) and substitute afternoon practice with dodgeball.
Q: Who gets the most guys/girls on the team? Who has the most game off the field?
A: Easy question, [sophomore] Tony Comunale has the most game off the mat. No girl in Princeton can resist his boyish charm.
Q: Do you have a pre-game ritual?
A: Usually I throw on my iPod and headphones and blast some techno/dance before my matches to pump me up. Nothing can beat some good ol’ David Guetta and MSTRKRFT.
Q: Most embarrassing song on your iPod?
A: “Touch My Body” by Mariah Carey. No one can touch her lyrical genius! A close second would be “Faded” by Soul Decision.
