On tap with ... Greg Seaman

Sophomore Greg Seaman, a midfielder on the men's lacrosse team, sat down with The Daily Princetonian to discuss his life beyond the playing field. Last season, Seaman played in nine games for the Tigers and is expected to become a face-off specialist this year.

What was your "welcome to college" moment?

Last season in one of the first games I got in, we were playing Butler and were up by a few goals. I went in for a face-off, and I lost it, and they went down and scored right away. I went back to the center to take another face-off, and as I looked up, I was getting called off the field.

Greatest highlight in sports?

My friends and I were playing Mario Tennis. We were down two sets to none, and then we came back and won. Emil really broke down when baby Mario set the records for the most smash winners.

Funniest story about head coach Bill Tierney?

He's a very quiet, soft-spoken, reserved, laid-back guy ... there's really not much to tell.

Quirkiest teammate? Why?

Chris Peyser. He is very difficult to figure out, and he's constantly wearing pinnies.

Most embarrassing moment?

In my writing seminar last year, we were going around the room saying what interested us about the topic, which was genetically modified foods, and I made a joke, and not a single person smiled or reacted at all. One of my friends in the room laughed only because it was so awkward.

Probably that you automatically have older guys as mentors and friends who can answer your questions, and who are always there for you.

Worst / hardest part about being an athlete on campus?

The labels that different sports teams carry are unfair. You should be judged on what kind of person you are and not what sport you play.

Favorite thing to do when not practicing?

Play video games, nap and watch videos on YouTube. [My favorites] are "Charlie" ... it's about a cartoon unicorn ... and "Old Greg" ... which can't even be explained.

Other sport you would play?

Football, because my raw power and overwhelming strength would really come out on the gridiron.

If you were a coach for a day, you would...?

I would have a practice where no one would play their current positions.

Favorite class at Princeton?

NES 201: Introduction to the Middle East.

Favorite thing to do on the Street?

Hanging out with my friends, especially members of HAF, as well as stomping the yard. Editor's Note: HAF is an acronym for "Herm and Friends," which refers to a group of players chosen to hang out with junior defenseman Nick Hermandorfer. Who gets the most girls on the team? Who has the most game off the field?

I remember John Bennett said last year that Zach Jungers was the Zach Morris of Princeton, and I think that John was being pretty honest. As far as most game, I think John Bennett is very Screech-like and is always a great friend.

What is that crazy glass box next to Jadwin?

I heard that eventually it's supposed to become a pen that's going to hold a live tiger.
