An Ivy showdown on Jadwin's C Floor

Both the men's and women's squash teams have enjoyed tremendous success this season, sporting a flawless combined record of 12-0. They will put their undefeated records on the line when they complete their Ivy League schedules this weekend.

Both Tiger teams host Dartmouth on Saturday and Harvard on Sunday. If they top the Big Green, they will take on the Crimson with the Ivy League title on the line for each team. The action kicks off both days at noon on the C floor of Jadwin Gymnasium.

On the men's side, the match against Harvard will be especially competitive, as both the Tigers and Crimson boast some of the best athletes in collegiate squash.

The Harvard men, who suffered a heartbreaking defeat at the hands of No. 1 Trinity on Wednesday night, are led by two of the nation's top players in seniors Siddharth Suchde and Ilan Oren. In fact, four of the top five Crimson players are seniors, while the top three Tigers are sophomores.

Despite the difference in age, the match is expected to be incredibly close, as has been the case in each of the past five years.

During this time, Harvard and Princeton have each claimed two league championships, and last year the rivals shared the title.

"Our team is really looking forward to these matches," head coach Bob Callahan '77 said. "We have a wonderful group of hard working players led by a strong group of seniors that are anxious to finish their careers with a championship."

The women's team can also expect an exciting showdown with the Crimson. Like their counterparts on the men's side, both sides enter this weekend's matches with perfect records.

"We are really looking forward to a hard-fought weekend of top college squash," head coach Gail Ramsay said. "The girls have prepared well all season, but I do not think we could be any more ready than we are going into this weekend."

Home-court advantage is essential to Princeton's chances at victory. The players and coaches are hoping that vociferous fan support will provide them with an edge.

"The size and spirit of the galleries makes a huge difference in the momentum of the match," senior Preston Comey said. "We are really looking forward to playing in front of that same support here in Jadwin Gymnasium this weekend."
