Sophomore Holly McGarvie leads the field hockey team — which recently captured the Ivy League title — in scoring with 16 points this season, and was the Ivy League Rookie of the Year in lacrosse last spring after scoring 22 goals while starting all 18 games.
The 'Prince' decided to sit down and get to know this star athlete a little bit better.
What was your 'welcome-to-college-sports' moment?
My first collegiate field hockey game vs. American, where a girl scored down my sideline in the first 15 seconds of the game, and then proceeded to score 10 minutes later. I felt pretty terrible about my play, and thought I would never be able to play at the college level.
What's the greatest highlight in your sports career here thus far?
Beating Virginia in the first round of the 2006 NCAA playoffs last year in lacrosse.
Best part about being an athlete on campus?
Being able to enjoy the opportunities of playing a team and getting to play national-level competition.
Worst part about being an athlete on campus?
The hardest part about being an athlete is the typical jock stereotypes.
What's your favorite thing to do when not practicing?
Going up to Nassau to get [ice cream from] the Bent Spoon.

What other sport would you most like to play?
Volleyball.
If you were a coach for a day, you would...?
Have a competition day, and no fast laps.
Your favorite class taken at Princeton?
Japanese History.
Favorite thing to do on the Street?
Dance the whole night!

A stargazing room.
