Sketch of suspect in Frist assault released

Borough Police has released a sketch and photo of the man suspected to have been involved in the attempted assault in Frist Campus Center on Sunday.

Lieutenant Dennis McManimon said Borough Police has not yet identified the man and is still seeking assistance from the Princeton community.

The man climbed under a stall door in a bathroom in Frist on Sunday evening, according to the police report of the incident, and fled after "groping her and attempting to place his hand down her pants."

The man told a witness before the attack that he was homeless and unemployed, the report said.

The sketch was generated by a composite artist from the New Jersey State Police Department, who questioned the victim and witnesses and used their descriptions to create the final sketch. The photo is taken from a surveillance camera.

The attacker is described as a young Hispanic male, 5 feet 6 inches, who walks with a pronounced twitch in his right shoulder. He has some facial hair but no beard or moustache and was wearing a hat with "Guatemala" embroidered on it. McManimon said Borough Police is using the Track System — through which pictures and descriptions of the assailant are sent to every police department in the state — to widen the search for the man.

"If the person is a transient ... then [the case] may be very difficult to solve," he said, adding that there was no physical evidence available.

"It could be as simple as this guy hitchhiking and getting stopped by a police officer, or it may be that someone sees him and calls us," he said. "Or we may not get any calls — you never know."

The University's Public Safety deputy director Charles Davall said that his department is "very hopeful" about their chances of apprehending the assailant.

"We have really good witness accounts and we hope that this picture generates more information," he said.
