Gloger to play for Louisville

Senior Spencer Gloger will play for Louisville in this weekend's Final Four, Rick Pitino confirmed in an exclusive interview with the 'Prince' last night.

"Illinois is going to be tough, so we thought Spencer's outside shooting skills would help us pull off the upset," Pitino said. "Princeton agreed to let him transfer here for the weekend and then transfer back in time to turn in his thesis."

Gloger first starred at Princeton as a freshman during the 1999-2000 school year. He then transferred to UCLA, transferred back, left school for a year, travelled to the moon and met Bill Brasky.

But despite his Odysseus-like travels, Gloger has not given up on his lifelong dream of playing in the NBA, and he said that he felt playing for Louisville this weekend would give him the exposure he needed to vault himself in the first round of June's draft.

"I've been here for like eight years, so I really have no choice but to move on to the NBA next year," Gloger said. "Once I drop 30 on Illinois, I'll be a lottery pick for sure. It's not like those guys are any better than Dartmouth."

Gloger said he has kept sharp by playing in pickup games every evening at Dillon Gym with computer science graduate students.

"I thought about going down to Jadwin and scrimmaging against the guys on the team," he explained, "but I felt like the short Asians at Dillon would be better competition."

Princeton administrators declined to comment on how Gloger could maintain academic and athletic eligibility, saying they were too busy laughing up the printing and binding strike (see page one for details).

"Look, I'm not talking to you, no matter how many times you ask," Director of Athletics Gary Walters '67 said to the 'Prince' reporter camping outside his front door last night in an attempt to interview him. "I don't like you."

Pitino told the 'Prince' that Gloger's eligibility wouldn't be a problem at Louisville.

"We don't really have academic standards here," Pitino said. "How do you think I won all those championships at Kentucky?"

Louisville and Illinois tip off at 6:07 p.m Saturday. CBS has decided to air "Spring Break Shark Attack Two" instead of the game, but WPRB 103.3 FM will broadcast the game. Carrot Top will have play-byplay while Chisolm Szymanski provides color analysis. It's April Fool's Day. Don't believe everything you read on the internet.
