If you happen to receive one of the last times during room draw, you can expect to spend next year in a tiny, cramped dorm room. Unless you're a student in Rockefeller College, that is.
With Holder Hall closed for renovations this year, Rocky students were moved to Little and Edwards halls — two of the most recently renovated dorms.
Greg McKallagat '07 was lucky enough to pick up a desirable room in the basement of Little Hall even though he had a late draw time.
"He has a two-room double the size of my triple . . . with a kitchen, laundry, bathroom and study area right outside his door," said Peter Ryan '07, McKallagat's friend.
Ryan lives in Butler College, however, where underclassmen complain of some of the least desirable campus housing.
In response to the housing inequalities, Ryan and fellow Butler resident Neel Gehani '07 designed bright red T-shirts with the words "Ruck Focky" on the front. The shirts say "Go Back to Your Little Shanties" on the back.
"We made the shirts for all those students who think the housing situation is unfair," Ryan said.
"Rocky students act like kings up there," Gehani said. "Well they can go back to their shanties."
Ryan and Gehani agreed that Rocky students play up their housing situation.
"They carry themselves like they did something to deserve these nice rooms," Ryan said.
Ryan and Gehani said they have sold about 100 shirts to students in residential colleges, including Rocky.
