The women's hockey team has been no stranger to success this season. WIth an upset over the break of then No. 5 Providence, the Tigers have a chance to move even further into the national top ten.
And a key part of any winning program, the Tigers included, is a great goaltender.
Junior Megan van Beusekom has been just that recently, especially in wins over Boston College and the Providence Friars at the end of winter break.
For her efforts, Van Beusekom was named Eastern College Athletic Conference Goaltender of th eWeek. She had 47 saves against the Friars, including a few big ones down the stretch as the Tigers held on to win by one goal, 4-3.
Van Beusekom, a Loretto, Minnesota native, leads the ECAC with a .928 save percentage and is second in goals against average at 2.12.
She is 6-3-1 on the season for the Tigers. Last year, the goaltender was named to the All-Ivy first team, helped by her .920 save percentage, a Princeton record.
Joining Van Beusekom for weekly ECAC honors were junior forward Gretchen Anderson and freshman forward Tarah Clark.
Both were named to the ECAC weekly honor roll for their performances.
Clark scored the game-winner against Providence and Anderson posted two goals and three assists.
