After losing to St. John's last Friday, women's volleyball improved its record against saintly opponents by defeating St. Peter's 3-0 yesterday in the friendly confines of Dillon Gym. Princeton improved its record to 1-1 on the season.
Princeton won the first game 30-19 and then came back from behind in each of the next two games to win them 30-17 and 30-26.
The Tigers were led by the offensive one-two punch of senior middle blocker Abby Studer and junior outside hitter Kellie Cramm.
Lifeguard?
Studer recorded 13 kills and no errors, while Cramm, a first-team all-Ivy selection last season from Laguna Beach, Calif., had 16 kills and one error.
Overall, the offense recorded 53 kills and nine errors in 121 attempts, for an attack percentage of .364.
Studer, a native of Signal Mountain, Tenn., was particularly strong in the third game, clinching the Tigers' victory with a number of late kills.
Senior outside hitter Michelle Buffum and freshman setter Jenny Senske led the team with eight digs each.
Senske also led in assists, with 30 in the first two games. Classmate Marissa Becker took over at setter in the third game to add 11 assists.
