For their efforts in field hockey's wins in both the first round and the quarterfinals of the NCAA tournament last weekend, sophomore Cory Picketts and freshman Ashley Sennett both received Ivy League honors.
Picketts was named Ivy League Player of the Week for the first time in her career after scoring the game-winner in Princeton's 2-1 win over Old Dominion on Sunday.
Sennett earned Rookie of the Week honors for her two goals in the Tigers' first round win over Northeastern. The goals were her fifth and sixth of the season.
Freshman forward Esmeralda Negron of the women's soccer team also earned Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors for her two goals in the first 15 minutes of the Tigers' 4-0 win over Fairfield last Wednesday.
This was Negron's second Rookie of the Week honor of the season.
Princeton will be hosting the first and second rounds of the NCAA Women's College Soccer Cup this weekend.
In the first game at 4 p.m. on Friday, Rutgers will take on Boston University at Lourie-Love Field, followed by the Tigers playing Loyola at 7 p.m.
The second round game will be played Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m., also on Lourie-Love Field.
Single-game tickets will cost $7 for adults, $3 for students and senior citizens and $1 for children under the age of 5.
