After calling off Lawnparties earlier this month because of the terrorist attacks in New York and Washington, the eating clubs have rescheduled the annual celebration for the afternoon of Sunday, Sept. 30.
Though some clubs will have different bands than they originally planned, all 11 will hold a concert.
"We thought it worked in with President Tilghman's installation and the idea of a festive weekend," Charter president Lindsey Michelotti '02 said.
Though she has held office since June, Shirley Tilghman will be formally installed as Princeton's 19th president during a ceremony on Friday.
Some clubs, like Terrace Club, were unable to reschedule their band for this Sunday. Instead, Terrace hired a campus band, the Rhythm Method, to replace the John Scofield Band. That band will play at Terrace on another date, club president Clay Whitehead '02 said.
The Inter-Club Council decided to postpone Lawnparties from Sept. 16 because of campus sentiment after the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11.
Club presidents said they felt that waiting two weeks to hold the event was an appropriate step.
"This Sunday's going to be really good for students to get into the rhythm of the things more than if we had them last week," said ICC president Cindy Drakeman '02.
