Earl nominated for award

Junior guard Brian Earl was one of 30 players recently nominated for the John R. Wooden award. The Wooden award is given annually to the top player in men's college basketball.

Other players nominated for the award included North Carolina's Antawn Jamison, who Princeton held to six points in the No. 1 Tar Heels' 50-42 win over the Tigers Dec. 13, UCLA's J.R. Henderson, a member of the Bruin team Princeton stunned in the first round of the 1996 NCAA tournament, and Arizona's Miles Simon, a high school teammate of senior forward Darren Hite.

Earl leads Princeton in scoring with 14.7 points per game. He has failed to reach double figures just once in the Tiger's 12 games.
